What is Gaur Gum ?

Manufacturing Process :


The manufacturing process of guar gum involves the following steps:

Cleaning and grading: The raw guar seeds are first cleaned to remove any impurities such as dust, stones, and other foreign matter. The cleaned seeds are then graded according to size to ensure uniformity.

Roasting: The graded seeds are then roasted to loosen the outer layer of the seed, known as the hull. Roasting also improves the color and flavor of the gum.

De-husking: The roasted seeds are then de-husked to remove the outer layer of the seed, leaving behind the white endosperm. The hulls are separated and used as animal feed.

Grinding: The de-husked seeds are then ground into a fine powder using a grinder or a hammer mill.

Separation: The ground powder is then mixed with water to form a slurry. The slurry is then passed through a series of screens to separate the coarse particles from the fine particles.

Pre-hydration: The fine particles are then mixed with water to form a thick paste. The paste is then allowed to stand for several hours to allow for pre-hydration, which helps to dissolve the gum more easily.

Centrifugation: The pre-hydrated gum paste is then centrifuged to separate the soluble gum from the insoluble residue.

Grinding and packaging: The dried gum is then ground into a fine powder and packaged for distribution.
